AMESCO celebrates Eid-Ul-Zuha in advance

The All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) on Thursday has joined in celebrating Eid-Ul-Zuha in advance with Muslim and non Muslim brothers of Bishnupur today at Kwakta multipurpose hall in Kwakta.
The programme held as a part of AMESCO's long tradition of fostering unity spirit and celebrating the co-existence of various indigenous since its inception, was successfully joined by Maipak Ningthou Committee; Anjuman Islah-e Muashra, Kwakta; Jamiatul Ulama, Bishnupur District and other local bodies including AKYVO, AMPYA, AKCOC and their representatives.
Among the dignitaries were AMESCO's president Chinglemba Wahengbam; AKYVO's general secretary Md Hanif; AMPYA's advisor Oja Jiya; AKCOC's chief advisor Md Anwar Ali; Zeliangrong Youth Front's former chairman Nanda Kamei; Maipak Ningthou Committee's convenor Arshad Baseimayum; AMMPACO's president Md Hayatur Rahaman.
Speaking at the occasion, general secretary of AMESCO, Wangkhem Deepu said that such a gathering signifies the unbreakable bond shared among Meitei Pangals and other indigenous communities residing in the State.
It has been AMESCO's endeavour since 1998 to visit and join vibrant and diverse celebrations of various communities.
The Kwakta celebration was one such example, he added.
Notably, the Eid prayers, animal sacrifice, charity, social gatherings, festive meals, and gift-giving are part of the Eid-Ul-Zuha celebration that will continue till Saturday evening.
