Senapati, May 02 2025:
The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has strongly condemned the "heinous act of cold-blooded murder of three NSCN soldiers by the combined forces of the Indian security force and Assam police" on April 29, 2025, at the adjoining forest areas of New Kubin village and Herakilua village in the Naga inhabited district.
The ANSAM, in a statement issued today, said these repeated atrocities of the Indian Armed Forces towards the NSCN have openly violated the official agreements of the Government of India and the NSCN, and thereby failing to comply the joint statement of June 14, 2001, Bangkok, between the Government of India representatives and the NSCN wherein it was mutually agreed upon that the ceasefire agreement is between the Government of India and the NSCN as two entities without territorial limits and both the parties would abide by the ground rules as revised on January 13, 2001, both in letter and spirit, focussing on preventing offensive operations and promoting peaceful environment for political dialogue.
"To our utter shock and dismay, India, which is known to be one of the world's largest democratic countries, has contradicted herself by not respecting the signed official agreements between the two entities and by repeatedly committing belligerent atrocities towards NSCN thereby violating the spirit of the ongoing Indo-Naga ceasefire and peace talks and by continued delay of the Indo-Naga peace dialogue after several rounds of talks without a logical conclusion to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue," said ANSAM.
Calling it as the "sinister policy" of the Government of India, the ANSAM said the former has also demeaned the ethics of its democratic administration by disowning their own leaders who have valued and recognised the unique history and situation of the Naga people and the official agreements signed between the two entities.
Extending their deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and well wishers, the ANSAM said that the supreme sacrifice for the nation by these NSCN cadres will be inked in the history of the Naga national struggle for self determination.
