Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi: Training for over 400 Anganwadi workers concludes in Kakching

Kakching, August 31 2025:
The Kakching District Administration in collaboration with the Integrated ChildDevelopment Services (ICDS) Cell successfully concluded training programme for over 400 Anganwadi Workers in Kakching District.
The training was conducted to ensure that every child receives possible care, education and nutrition under the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB) programme.
PBPB is an initiative under the Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
362 Anganwadi Workers were given training in different batches begining from August 4, 2025 which concluded yesterday at the Library and Information Centre in the district.

Whereas, 100 Anganwadi Workers have already successfully completed the training in December last year.
The training focused on aspects such as Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), proper distribution of supplementary nutrition apart from addressing issues such as Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Anaemia among others.
Trainings were also given on two curriculum frame-works, namely 'Aadharshila' - ECCE which focus on children aged 3 to 6 years and 'Navchetana' - ECCE for children from 0 to 3 years to empower the Anganwadi workers and ensure optimal learning for all children, including special focus on Divyang (differently abled) children in every activity.
During the training programme, the participating Anganwadi workers were taught on the importance of nutrition and the vital role of the training in enhancing the delivery of Poshan services.
They were encouraged to approach the training with dedication and enthusiasm to contribute effectively to the health & well-being of women and children.
The training programme was conducted by Ningthoujam Parango Singh, Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Project (Kakching) of Social Welfare Department with active participation by everybody including, Supervisors, Inspector and other support staffs.
