Dimapur, January 16 (NNN):
The GPRN/NSCN (IM) has dismissed allegations that Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang had struck a deal with the outfit to eliminate two rival leaders of that Arunachal Pradesh T L Rajkumar and L Wanglat.
The reaction from the NSCN (IM) came close on the heels of publication of a report in two Assamese dailies recently which quoting Arunachal Pradesh-based Hewa Peoples Front president B Kimsing and secretary A Moran reported that Apang had assigned contract to the NSCN (IM) to eliminate the duo.
Terming as "baseless and unfounded" the allegation, a press communiqu issued by NSCN (IM) MIP deputy secretary D Joy Rudolph said neither Apang could purchase the NSCN (IM) nor could he use it for his "cheap political advantage".
Questioning the silence of the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister in the wake of, what it said, such serious allegation leveled against him, the NSCN (IM) cautioned that Apang would be solely held responsible for his inability to clarify on the allegation in the event of any "undesirable development" on the lives of Rajkumar and Wanglat.
The Naga underground outfit alleged that by publishing such a report, the reporter/author of the news item attempted to hatch conspiracy with different elements and create confusion among the politicians of Arunachal Pradesh in order to create unfavourable situation of ongoing Indo-Naga peace process.
