Imphal East DEO urges public participation in electoral roll revision

Imphal, July 30 2026:
The District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East has announced that the Special Intensive Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls , 2026 is in the crucial Claims and Objections period.
Lists of claims and objections received by EROs for the 10 Assembly Constituencies in Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B have been generated and exhibited at the respective ERO offices for public inspection.
The weekly lists were also handed over to representatives of all political parties functioning in the district.
Electoral Roll Observer Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Commissioner/Secretary (SW), Government of Manipur, visited the district on July 29 and chaired a meeting with political party representatives, PPS to MLAs, EROs and AEROs.
He stressed that a healthy electoral roll is vital for free and fair elections and reviewed the SIR process at both booth and district levels.
The DEO highlighted the ECI guidelines and the SIR-2026 schedule.
Period for filing Claims & Objections is from July 5 to August 4, 2026.Notice Phase and disposal will continue till September 2, with publication of the Final Electoral Roll on September 6 .
To assist voters, especially PwDs, migrants and elderly electors, a dedicated Helpdesk with trained personnel has been set up at the district level.
Voters can also call toll-free 1950 for grievances.
