Shija Academy holds mental health & counselling programme

Shija Academy, a unit of Shija Foundation, organised a 1-day programme on "Mental Health & Counselling" at its campus in Sangakpham today.
As per a release issued by Shija Foundation, the programme was conducted under the National Mission Programme in collaboration with Tele MANAS, the College Development Council of Manipur University and Ya_All: The Youth Network.
The programme was graced by Dr Haobijam Angomcha Singh, retired Senior Psychiatrist, Manipur Health Services; Dr Karishma Yumnam, Official Psychologist, State Tele MANAS Cell, Manipur; and Naorem Bidyalaxmi Devi, Counsellor, YaAll: The Youth Network, as presidium members.
The speakers emphasized the importance of early intervention and creating supportive environments where young people can seek help without hesitation.
The event highlighted key aspects of mental wellbeing and familiarize students with available support services.
It featured informative sessions, interactive activities to encourage personal reflection and opportunities for students to engage directly with trained counselors in both individual and group settings.
Around 100 students and staff from Shija Academy attended the event.
