Imphal, April 26 2025:
From the proceeds they collected from selling home-made biscuits at their school, two Canada based young students donated a power loom to displaced persons currently taking shelter at the relief camp set up at Ideal Girl's college, Akampat.
Manipur native Jianna Haobam and Assam's Ivelyn Deka both studying class XI at Westmount Charter School, Calgari, Canada made biscuits at their homes and sold them at school.
They saved the money collected from selling their home-made biscuits.
With the money saved by Jianna Haobam and Ivelyn Deka, a power loom has been provided to displaced persons staying at Ideal Girl's College relief camp on Saturday.
The power loom was handed over to displaced persons during a simple function held at the relief camp.
RIMS MS Dr N Sanjib, who attended the function, lauded invaluable steps taken by the two young students for their motherland despite staying far away.
"There are no age and distance barrier in showing compassion for the suffering people and patriotism," he remarked.
Dr Sanjib extolled the thoughts of the two Canadian based young students and prayed for early return of peace and normalcy in Manipur.
