Imphal, August 25 2025: Moirang police have apprehended three juveniles in connection with the death of a minor girl by hanging at Bishnupur district recently.

The three juveniles who have been arrested by the police include a girl.

The minor girl who allegedly committed suicide by hanging was a Class IX student.

She was found hanging at her residence on August 23 .

She may have been forced to take the extreme step of taking her own life because of a video clip which leaked and went viral on social media, said a source in the police.

Notably, a Joint Action Committee (JAC), formed in connection with the death, had urged the police and authorities concerned to arrest all persons responsible for uploading the video clip.

The JAC had warned of launching intense agitation if the culprits were not arrested by August 25.Meanwhile, Moirang police, which had registered a case to investigate the death, said the three apprehended juveniles have been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board Bishnupur and sent to observation homes.
