Governor distributes certificates to NIT students

Imphal, September 24 2025:
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla distributed medals, certificates and PhD degrees to outgoing students of various departments at the 12th Annual Convocation of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur held today at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.
Altogether, 295 BTech, MTech, MSc and PhD students received their degrees at the convocation ceremony.
Speaking as the chief guest, Governor Bhalla lauded NIT Manipur's steady progress as a centre of excellence in science and technology while adding this achievement is due to the administration's visionary leadership, commitment of the faculty, excellent staff and contributions of NIT alumni.
He further urged the institution to strengthen its focus on research, innovation, and the vision of the National Education Policy 2020.Saying that institutions such as IITs and NITs are the torchbearers of progress across India, he expressed confidence that NIT Manipur will continue to produce true leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and visionaries and play a crucial role in taking Manipur forward.
Congratulating the graduating students, Governor Bhalla reminded them that their knowledge and skills must align with the larger National mission of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.Quoting the renowned Industrialist, Ratan Tata, he emphasized that real learning begins beyond the campus and encouraged the students to pursue their aspirations with courage and sincerity.
During the event, Governor Bhalla handed over gold medals and certificates to the toppers of different streams.
The ceremony was also graced by Professor DVLN Somayajulu, Director, NIT Manipur; Bajrang Lal Bagra, former CMD, National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) and Chairperson, Board of Governors of NIT Manipur, faculty members etc .
