CCpur, January 24 2026: Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive fire safety awareness programme at Veng Headquarters, Churachandpur District, Manipur, on Saturday.

According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative coincided with the International Day of Education, a global observance underscoring the transformative power of learning in fostering peace, resilience, and sustainable development.

The programme was designed for aspirants seeking careers in firefighting and security services, combining structured learning with practical demonstrations.

Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of fire types and firefighting methods through interactive presentations and visual aids, ensuring clarity and accessibility of key concepts.

The session was further enriched by hands-on familiarisation with different fire extinguishers, enabling attendees to understand their use in real-life emergency situations.

Locals, including men and women from Churachandpur, took part with notable enthusiasm and curiosity.
