Imphal, September 20 2026: The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) has urged the Tribal Affairs and Hills Department, Rural Development Department and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) to ensure smooth and effective functioning of their offices and provide maximum convenience and welfare to the people.

In a press note, the MNYO claimed that the departments and the institute are being run in a "haphazard manner" and are heavily understaffed.

It urged the authorities concerned to fill all backlog vacancies immediately through the regular 100-point roster system instead of making contractual appointments.

The Organisation also demanded that Assistant Teachers recruited under the Autonomous District Council Department on an adhoc or contractual basis in previous years be regularised without further delay.

It further stated that deserving Section Officers under the Rural Engineering Department should be promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer in accordance with the relevant recruitment rules.

Stating that such issues are impeding the steady development of the State, the MNYO urged the Government to take necessary steps at the earliest.
