Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla officially launched the Nation First @75 Campaign on Wednesday at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, marking a significant milestone in the State's journey towards inclusive growth, digital empowerment, and self-reliance, said Raj Bhavan in a statement.
Speaking at the launch, Governor Bhalla emphasised that the Nation First @75 Campaign builds on existing Government schemes, presenting them in a cohesive, campaign-driven format to maximize public participation.
"While we implement these schemes throughout the year, this campaign brings focus and energy, encouraging citizens to actively contribute to Manipur's development," he said.
The initiative draws inspiration from National programmes which align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a developed India (Viksit Bharat), he added.
The Governor urged all citizens, especially youths and women, to participate actively.
"The campaign is a call to honor our past sacrifices by building a Manipur that is healthy, empowered, and digitally connected," he said.
GovConnect Manipur: The GovConnect Manipur platform, now open to citizens after successful pilot testing, enables online grievance tracking, fostering transparency and responsive governance.
Initiative to strengthen Manipur Milk Union: Supported by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Manipur Dairy is undergoing a transformation with Rs 3 crore in funding for infrastructure upgrades, automated milk testing, and transparent payment systems.
Three new women-led cooperatives, new milk varieties, proprietary curd and cheese products, and a new logo were launched today.
Women farmers, central to the sector, will drive economic empowerment.
Migration Support Centres: Migration Support Centres in Delhi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, established in PPP mode, will assist Manipuri citizens in securing jobs post-skilling.
A residential skill development programme, in collaboration with leading airlines, is offering worldclass cabin crew training and global placement opportunities for Manipur's youth.
4 services and portal of Transport Department: The Manipur Transport Project has introduced a digital platform for online ticketing, bus monitoring, and enforcement, alongside six new e-rickshaw services and Aadhaar-linked options.
Outlining different activities of the Nation First @75 Campaign, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel said that 75 targeted activities will be conducted by different departments to reflect the campaign's theme.
Highlighting some of the activities, he said 75 workshops will be conducted in 75 Panchayats under Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday which includes cultural programmes, and competitions to promote National pride.
Furthermore, 75 cleanliness drives in public spaces, with special events by October 2 will be conducted across 232 Panchayats, he added.
To boost the local economy, the Chief Secretary said, 75 exhibitions for indigenous products will be showcased, supporting Vocal for Local and PM SVANidhi for street vendors.
On the environmental front, he said 75 tree plantation drives and eco-club activities will be conducted in different schools across the State.
Goel said the PHED will conduct water quality testing in 75 villages, and other activities in 75 Anganwadi centres.
In addition, at least 75 legal awareness camps will be conducted by the Law & Judicial Department, alongside programmes in aspirational districts and 299 Village Authorities, he added.
The Chief Secretary further emphasized collaboration among Government, NGOs, educational institutions, and the private sector to ensure success.
"Our vision is a prosperous, inclusive Manipur in harmony with nature, contributing to India's progress," he added.
National Dairy Development Board's Chairman, Dr Meenesh Shah highlighted steps taken to revitalize Manipur's dairy sector, building on successful models in Assam.
"Since taking over Manipur Dairy, we've addressed challenges like low procurement and obsolete infrastructure," he said.
With new milk societies, advanced technology like the Automatic Milk Collection System (AMCS), and direct farmer payments, the NDDB aims to integrate different communities into the mainstream economy, Shah said.
