Imphal, July 18 2026: Loitongbam Thoithoi Singh, a PhD scholar in the Department of Chemistry, received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 36th International Symposium on Chirality (Chirality 2026), held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 14 to 17 July 2026 .

Loitongbam Thoithoi Singh is pursuing his doctoral research under the supervision of Dr Raju Laishram, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemi- stry, Manipur University.

He received the award for his presentation entitled "Circularly Polarized Luminescence Active Low Molecular Weight Lanthanide Gels: Tunable Emission Including White Light," according to a press release issued by the PRO, MU .

The Department of Chemistry has congratulated Loitongbam Thoithoi Singh and his research supervisor, Dr Raju Laishram on the prestigious recognition.

The department stated that the award brings pride to Manipur University and strengthens its commitment to high-quality research, innovation and global scientific engagement.
