Imphal, May 18 2025: The 16th State Level Pineapple Festival cum Buyer-Seller Meet and Youth Festival 2025 would be held from June 27.Speaking to media persons at Andro today, MLA Th Shyamkumar the Pineapple Festival organised by the Development Organisation Andro Kendra (DOAK) every year was suspended for some years on account of the Covid-19 pandemic and the violent crisis which erupted on May 3, 2023 .

As the situation has improved considerably, the 16th State Level Pineapple Festival cum Buyer-Seller Meet and Youth Festival 2025 would be held for five days.

The festival is basically aimed at promoting pineapple farmers and alleviating their economic condition, Shyamkumar said.

He said that one special attraction of this year's Pineapple Festival would be a National level Pineapple Queen contest.

He said that Shyamkumar Charitable Trust would give a cash incentive of Rs one lakh to Rina Chakpram d/o Munal Chakpram and Naobi Chakpram who secured 17th position in the Science stream of Higher Secondary Examination 2025 conducted by COHSEM.

Rina Chakpram is a student of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok.

Shyamkumar said that the award would be handed over to Rina at the opening ceremony of the forthcoming Pineapple Festival.
