Imphal, June 15 2025: Lok Sabha MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam has laid the foundation stone for the Blind Boys Hostel of the Welfare Association for the Blind (WAB), Manipur at SAI Road, Takyel today.

Speaking as the chief guest, Bimol Akoijam praised the WAB, Manipur, for its initiative in guiding visually challenged students.

Saying that visually challenged people should not face discrimination, he stressed that they, instead, should be provided with all possible benefits and support.

WAB, Manipur secretary K Samananda said that the association has been implementing different welfare schemes for the visually challenged people in Manipur.

The association, he said, will continue to support the visually challenged by working closely with relevant departments, and undertaking projects such as establishing a dedicated hostel for the visually challenged students.
