Imphal, May 12 2025: While the two arrested in the case of sexual assault at Mangal Football Academy have been sent to judicial custody, new and chilling details of the sexual abuse on minor boys of the academy have emerged Nongthongbam Mangalsana, founder and coach of Mangal Football Academy at Kontha Khabam Maning Leikai and the other accused, Khagembam Shitaljit are "unnatural sex partners" and the two started sexually assaulting minor boys of the academy on the pretext of conducting medical check-ups, the State Prosecutor has said in the Court.

Minor boys were sexually assaulted since their admission at the academy.

One of the minor victims was sexually assaulted and abused for three consecutive days in October 2024 .

The two accused persons forced the minor boys to watch pornography and took compromising pictures of them, the Prosecutor has said.

Arrested for sexually assaulting minor boys, the coach Nongthongbam Mangalsana and co-accused Kh Shitaljit have been sent to judicial custody till May 26 .

Nongthongbam Mangalsana (45) hails from Kontha Khabam Maning Leikai.

Khangembam Shitaljit alias Akon (28) hails from Heingang Panthoi Leikai.

They were produced before the Court of the Special Judge POCSO Imphal East in-charge after completion of their police custody period today.

Praying the Court to send the accused persons to judicial custody, the Public Prosecutor submitted that N Mangalsana sexually assaulted minor boys staying in his football academy on multiple occasions, threatening them of dire consequences if they disclose the crime to anyone.

The allegation of sexual assault emerged on May 4 recently when a guardian went to meet his ward -- a minor, who alleged that he was sexually assaulted by the coach on May 1 and on earlier occasions.

The Prosecutor submitted that the coach, Mangalsana, has been accused of sexually assaulting many other students who were staying at his academy.

Notably, the coach was arrested on May 4 .

The other accused person, Khangembam Shitaljit was arrested on May 5, after his name was disclosed by victim students.

On thorough examination of the accused persons, the Prosecutor said, they have admitted to the charges levelled against them.

The coach has admitted that the other accused person, Kh Shitaljit has been his unnatural sex partner, said the Prosecutor.

The coach, Mangalsana, on the pretext of conducting medical check-ups, started sexually abusing the victims by fondling and groping since the day of their admission.

This abuse continued on a regular basis at different places of the football academy, said the Prosecutor.

While the co-accused, Shitaljit also sexually assaulted the victims, he abused a minor boy for three consecutive nights in the month of October 2024, said the Prosecutor.

The accused persons also forced the minor victims to view different types of nude and pornographic photos and videos before committing the crime.

They also took compromising photographs of the victims as well, added the Prosecutor.

The Court, after hearing the submission of the Public Prosecutor, and on perusal of the case records, sent the two to judicial custody till May 26 for smooth investigation of the case.
