Presidency College Motbung celebrates 52nd foundation day

Kangpokpi, July 11 2025: In a spirited celebration marked by pride and nostalgia, Presidency College Motbung, the only government college in Kangpokpi district, commemorated its 52nd Foundation Day today under the inspiring theme "Celebrating Legacy, Embracing Future" .

Established in 1973, Presidency College Motbung has been a beacon of higher education in the district, nurturing countless students who have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields.

The college campus came alive with vibrant festivities as faculty members, students, alumni, and well-wishers gathered to honor over five decades of academic excellence and community service.

The celebration was held in two sessions - a formal session in the morning followed by a recreational session in the afternoon.

The formal session began with a solemn pledge led by the Principal, Dr S Kipgen, reaffirming the institution's commitment to educational excellence and holistic development.

In his keynote address, Dr Kipgen paid rich tributes to the founding members of the college, particularly its founding principal, the late Henkholen Sitlhou, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for what Presidency College is today.

An alumni representative, while addressing the gathering, proudly recalled that the college has produced many distinguished personalities, including Raju Bista, Member of Parliament, among others.

As a mark of respect and gratitude, the audience observed a minute of silence in memory of the founding members and pioneers who shaped the institution's legacy.

The second session unfolded in a joyful atmosphere filled with a series of entertainment and cultural programs.

Students and faculty showcased their talents through soulful songs, dynamic dances, and captivating traditional performances, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
