CritiCon 2025 kicks off at RIMS

The 1st Annual Conference of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), Imphal Branch, titled CritiCon 2025, kicked off today at the Jubilee Hall of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the conference organized in collaboration with the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, RIMS, under the theme "Sharpening Intensive Care Skills, Saving Lives", brought together leading experts, practitioners, and academicians to promote knowledge sharing and best practices in critical care medicine.
CritiCon 2025 was inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS, Imphal and Dr Sachin Gupta, general secretary, ISCCM and Director of Critical Care at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Gurgaon.
Other prominent attendees included Prof Gojendra Rajkumar, Head, Department of Anaesthesiology, RIMS; Dr S Thoibahenba Singh, Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, JNIMS;' Assoc Prof L Eshori, joint organising secretary; Prof L Chaoba Singh, organising chairman; and Dr T Kennedy Singh, organizing secretary of the 1st CritiCon Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma said, "As an organiser from RIMS Imphal, I extend warm welcome to all delegates attending the inaugural CritiCon, organised by the ISCCM Imphal Chapter" .
He asserted that the theme "Sharpening Intensive Care Skills, Saving Lives", emphasizes the importance of timely, evidence-based critical care.
"The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the urgent need for robust ICU systems and skilled intensivists.
This conference marks a significant step in strengthening intensive care in Manipur and the Northeast", added the RIMS Director.
Notably, the two-day conference will feature a nursing workshop cum CME on "Care of Patients in the ICU", a POCUS workshop, and paper and poster presentations for postgraduate students.
Credit points will be awarded by the Manipur Medical Council (MMC) and Manipur Nursing Council (MNC) .
Speakers from various specialties will also deliver insightful lectures on critical care topics throughout the event.
A key highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the release of the souvenir of the 1st CritiCon Imphal 2025, commemorating academic and clinical contributions to critical care medicine in the region.
