Imphal, November 05 2025: The Registrar of Societies, Manipur must not approve the registration of Mizo Integration Council, displaced folks of Churachandpur have asserted.

Khumujamba Meitei Leikai Pattadar Association, Churachandpur and Churachandpur Meitei Leikai Pattadar Association are against the registration of the Mizo Integration Council, they said, claiming the council has been formed by members of communities from Mizoram State.

Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club Imphal, Churachandpur Meitei Leikai Pattadar Association's president S Ibungo said the associations have submitted an objection against the registration of the council with the head office of the societies.

Notably, the Deputy Registrar of Societies, Churachandpur had issued a public notice on October 24, 2025, regarding a proposal for the registration of a society named the Mizo Integration Council (MIC), inviting objections within 15 days.

Allowing the registration of the council here would pave the way for formation of Greater Mizoram, Ibungo claimed.

No council that would encourage the demand for formation of Greater Mizoram must be allowed to register as a society in the State of Manipur, he said.
