Fertilizers distributed to Machi block farmers

Imphal, August 05 2025:
The Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur in collaboration with Mol Earn Organic Farmers Producer Company (FPC) Ltd, organised a farmer training programme cum fertilizer and seed distribution programme today at Khangshim Village under Machi Block in Tengnoupal district.
The programme was graced by Sp Lovejoy Anal, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel/Tengnoupal as chief guest; K Mekham Maring, CEO Mol Earn FPC as president; Joychandra Konthoujam, chairman, Justice Committee on Anglo Manipuri War 1891, as special guest of honour; and Rajkumar Nganba, nodal officer, NFSNM, Dept of Agriculture and W Nupendra Singh, Plant Pathologist, Directorate of Agriculture as guests of honour.
Speaking at the event, Sp Lovejoy Anal, District Agriculture Officer highlighted the Department's efforts to boost agricultural productivity in the hill districts of Manipur.
He said the initiative aims to support farmers by providing quality fertilizers and agricultural inputs, enabling them to achieve higher yields and secure better returns, thus improving the region's self-sufficiency.
Addressing the gathering as special guest of honour, Joychandra Konthoujam spoke on the environmental and economic challenges faced by the State due to the continuous inflow of illegal settlers.
He noted that such issues have severely disrupted the ecological balance and urged for collective efforts to protect the land and promote sustainable agricultural practices in both the hills and valley regions.
