RIMS wraps up Hindi Fortnight 2025

The closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight 2025 was held today at the Examination Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised by the Official Language Cell, RIMS, Imphal.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the Hindi Fortnight was observed from September 16 to 29, 2025, during which a series of competitions such as Hindi to English translation, Hindi handwriting, singing, poem recitation, reading competition and extempore speech were conducted for faculty, staff, and students.
These events aimed to create awareness and interest in the use of Hindi as the official language in academic and administrative domains.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal; and Prof RajkumarMobi Singh, Head, Department of Hindi, Dhanamanjuri University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar emphasized the significance of promoting Hindi as the official language, in line with the directives of the Government of India.
He highlighted that such observances not only encourage the use of Hindi in day-to-day administrative work but also help strengthen national integration and cultural identity.
The Director also appreciated the efforts of the Official Language Cell, RIMS, in successfully organising the fortnight and urged all staff members to contribute to the progressive use of Hindi in official correspondence and activities.
As part of the ceremony, winners of the various competitions held throughout the fortnight were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances.
