AZSU (AMN) lauds Naga Peace Accord

All Zeliangrong Students' Union, Assam, Manipur & Nagaland has hailed the Naga Peace Accord which was signed on August 3, 2105 between the Government of India and NSCN (IM).
"We are thankful to the visionary collective leadership of NSCN (IM), Isaac Swu, Th Muivah and GOI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and RN Ravi, the Interlocutor for Naga talks, for their fervent struggle in reaching this Historic Naga Peace Accord," said a statement on Friday.
AZSU (AMN) general secretary Benjamin Gondamei said thousands of lives have sacrificed where soldiers, men, women, children and people from all walks of lives had shared the burden upholding for a peaceful solution that the Nagas have attained today.
"We believe the signing of the Naga Peace Accord would usher in peace and harmony among all factional groups in Zeliangrong area which is one of the most volatile areas besides being a battle ground," Benjamin said in the statement.
AZSU (AMN) is optimistic that the Historic Naga Peace Accord will remove bloodshed and conflict in Naga Country and bring better relationship among the tribes and communities.
