Education Min assures to raise issues faced by IGNTU at Centre

Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam has assured the students of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) that the problems and issues faced in the institution will be put up to the Minister of HRD.
He informed that in a recent meeting with the Minister of HRD at Delhi, the issues faced by the Central institutions and their achievements of the State as such in the IITs, NIT, IBSD and the Manipur University of the States were highlighted.
A letter to the Minister of HRD will soon be written stressing the problems pointed out in the memorandum of the IGNTU Students' Union.
The memorandum submitted mentioned the need for approved ordinances for Regional Campus and Regional Director, lack of faculties and proper infrastructure, he added.
Established in 2009, IGNTU-RCM has completed 10 years of its existence.
The campus was instituted as a regional centre of IGNTU, a Central university located at Amarkantak, MP in the year 2009.The institution began operating from a one room office at TRI, Chingmeirong.
Spread across 301 acres lush green campus offers courses in Masters and Ph D programmes, with five departments namely Dept of Social Work, Dept of Political Science, Dept of Tribal Studies, Dept of Sociology and Social Anthropology, Dept of Computer Science.
The institute is the only institution in the state to offer course in Master in Social Work.
The Minister was at IGNTU-RCM to attend the annual Fresher's Meet cum Cultural meet, 2019.Welcoming the fresher at the meet, Th Radheshyam urged the students to focus more applied research so that the results could be more beneficial.
Ph D should be done carried out to develop the area of research and area of knowledge in any field relevant to the society, he said.
Each individual is born with a purpose, he said, adding that not a single person wants to become an offender but the situation and society sometimes compels a person towards negativity.
Education is the means to enlighten oneself and trained through collaboration, connection and communication among each other becoming a team.
He advised the students to learn to use time wisely.
Moments once gone will not come again so one should cherish each and every moment.
Success, he added comes to those who have a vision, knows how to get it and be self disciplined.
The meet was attended by Deputy Registrar, IGNTU-RCM, SL Varte, professors, research scholars and students of the institution.
