DHS Thoubal observes World Environment Day 2025

Thoubal, June 29 2025:
District Health Society Thoubal observed World Environment Day at CMO Complex Thoubal under the theme "Beat plastic pollution".
The event was graced by Dr Y Nokul Singh, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Dr Y Bijendra Singh, District AIDS Control Officer, Thoubal and Dr L Lalitkumar Singh, District Malaria Officer as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Delivering the keynote address, Ch Basanta Singh, District Program Manager Thoubal deliberated on the important aims and goals of celebrating World Environment Day with special focus on this year's theme.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO Dr Y Nokul Singh sought the support of the staff of different departments to make the campus of CMO Office Complex a plastic-free zone.
He appealed them to segregate the waste and dispose of it when the municipality team comes for garbage collection.
Stating that everyone has an obligation to protect the environment, he said that it is high time for people to take the matter seriously to ensure that future generations do not have to pay the price of environmental collapse.
Meanwhile, Dr L Lalitkumar shed light on the risks posed by the presence of microplastics in one's food.
As a part of the event, the staff conducted a social service camp at CMO Office Complex and planted tree saplings led by the Thoubal CMO .
