Imphal, August 28 2025: Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from multiple places today.

A bulletin issued by Police Control Room (PCR) said that three INSAS rifles with three magazines, one AK-47 with two magazines, two Ghatak AK-47 rifles with two magazines, one SLR rifle with a magazine, one 9mm MP5 rifle with two magazines and 232 rounds of live ammunition of different calibres were seized from Uran Chiru Village and its surrounding areas under Sagolmang police station.

It also said that five country made muzzle loading single barrel guns, 33 live rounds of AK ammunition, thirty vials containing gunpowder, one Baofeng walkie talkie set, 100 lead pieces and six gun powder filling iron roads were seized from in between Jairolpokpi and Mongbung n Jiribam.

From Phubala Patton Mamang, one SLR gun with a magazine, one .303 rifle with a magazine, one single barrel gun, two double barrel guns and one mine bomb were seized, said PCR.

Moreover, security forces arrested one Henkholen Singson (32), a resident of Phaitol Part-II in Tamenglong, from Mulargao village in Jiribam and from his possession 22 soap cases containing brown sugar were seized, it said.

The police also arrested four cadres of different outfits today.
