Awareness programme cum voluntary blood donation camp held at Moirang

Moirang, August 22 2025:
A one-day awareness programme cum voluntary blood donation camp was organised today at Moirang Konjengbam Maning Leikai Community Hall under the theme "To Meet the Demand of Local People of Moirang Ensuring Timely Treatment for Patient in Need".
The programme was jointly organised by the Arambai Tenggol Thangjing Squad (Unit-33) in collaboration with AT GHQ Medical Team, Meira Paibis, students association, drivers association, All Hotel/Shops Association, All Chanura Lup of Moirang and the Department of Transfusion Medical, RIMS Hospital.
Altogether 60 individuals came forward to donate blood during the camp.
Speaking at the event, MLA Shanti lauded the initiative, stating that the blood donation campaign organised by the Arambai Tenggol was in harmony with present day needs.
He noted that donating blood is one of the noblest acts, saving countless lives.
He also appreciated the Arambai Tenggol volunteers for their efforts in mobilising community participation and spreading the message of peace and social responsibility.
Paonam Sanjoy, Asst Commander of AT Thangjing Squad (Unit-33), highlighted the urgent need for blood in Manipur, pointing out that many patients admitted to JNIMS and RIMS have lost their lives due to the non-availability of timely transfusions.
He also announced that the squad intends to organise more blood donation drives in the future to meet the growing need.
He further stated that the blood collected during the camp would be kept at RIMS Blood Bank, and assured that the blood collected would be prioritised for patients from Moirang undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital, while under some special circumstances, patients from outside Moirang would also be supported.
