State logs 29 new Covid cases, management teams formed

Imphal, June 20 2025:
The state reported 29 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, pushing the total number of active cases to 77.Of the new cases, 22 are from Imphal West, six from Imphal East, and one from Thoubal district.
According to sources, 65 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
Of the active cases, 71 are under home isolation, while three have been discharged.
Health authorities have initiated contact tracing for individuals who tested positive.
In view of the spread of COVID-19, COVID Management teams have been formed for each district of the state as part of precautionary measures.
In addition, COVID sample collection and testing centres have been identified for some districts.
The sample collection and testing centres will perform the tests under the supervision of the CMO.
In some centre, RAT facility would be provided.
However, the centres have yet to begin functioning and would only do so once the testing becomes necessary.
A testing centre has also been set up at Imphal Airport, where passengers would be examined for free.
In Imphal West, free COVID testing is being provided at RD Wing Lamphelpat.
The registration starts from 10 am and testing from 11am.The type of test done is RAT and all those registered for the day are tested to the last person.
At JNIMS, the COVID test can be done at the OPD and the type of test is RTPCR.
However, the test is being done only for symptomatic cases.
As the Institute has received the RAT kits from the Health Department, people can now avail RAT as well.
On the other hand, as per an order by the RIMS MS on June 18, the price for Truenat/ CBNAAT for RIMS Casualty and OPD patients is fixed at Rs 1200.The hospital is yet to receive any order from authority concerned for mass testing but it is well prepared for any such activity.
