New SBI branch office opened at Paomata

Senapati, May 18 2025: Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley inaugurated a new branch of State Bank of India at Paomata Centre, under Paomata sub division in the presence of Dhruba Charan Bal, General Manager, Network II, North East Circle, SBI, Local Head Office, Guwahati.

According to officials, the new branch is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and has posted a dedicated team of experienced staff for delivering exceptional customer service.

With this addition, the State Bank of India (SBI) continues to expand its footprint and SBI Paomata Branch is the 7th SBI Branch in Senapati district and 66th SBI Branch in the State of Manipur.

The branch will offer a variety of services, including account opening, deposit and withdrawal facilities, loan products, digital banking services, Government Sponsored Schemes and Social Security Schemes.

Customers can also access a wide range of SBI's digital platforms, including internet banking, YONO, and Joint Venture Products such as SBI Life Insurance, SBI Mutual Fund, SBI General Insurance and SBI Cards.

The inauguration of the new branch is expected to boost the local economy by providing easy access to banking services and promoting financial inclusion.

SBI's expansion plans are aligned with the government's initiatives to promote digital payments and financial literacy.

The DC congratulated SBI for opening the Bank in the much awaited unbanked block of Paomata, at a short span of time after the reallocation of Paomata Block to SBI in 2023 .

She stressed that accessing Banking facilities is the basic right of a citizen and urged the public to make full use of the banking facilities available and also urged the LDM to conduct more Financial Literacy Camps in the District so as to sensitise and create awareness among the public for the banking facilities and benefits available.

She also requested the General Manager of SBI to take the initiative to open its branch in the two unbanked blocks of Purul and Wilong.

Dhruba Charan Bal, GM thanked the SBI team for their tireless efforts in making the branch a reality and expressed gratitude to customers for their trust and support and said that the inauguration of the new branch marks a significant step in State Bank of India's efforts to expand its footprint in Manipur and strengthen its commitment to customer service.
