79th Independence Day celebrated at High Court of Manipur with patriotic zeal

The High Court of Manipur commemorated the 79th Independence Day of India with solemn dignity and patriotic zeal at the High Court complex on August 15.As per a release issued by Sheikh Aasif Shah, Deputy Registrar (Judicial) of the High Court of Manipur, the celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Justice K Somashekar, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem by the Band Platoon of the Manipur Police Training College, Pangei.
The event was graced by Justice A Guneshwar Sharma; Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui, Director, Manipur Judicial Academy; Brajabihari Singh, Chairman, Bar Council of Manipur; N Kumarjit Singh, President, High Court Bar Association of Manipur; Ch Bimolchandra, President, All Manipur Bar Association; Ojesh Mutum, Registrar General, High Court of Manipur, along with other dignitaries, members of the Bar, Judicial Officers, and staff of the High Court Registry.
A contingent of the 164th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) presented the Rashtriya Salute, signifying honour and respect to the nation.
In his address.
Justice K Somashekar paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters whose courage and vision secured India's independence, and urged all citizens to uphold the values of democracy, justice, and equality enshrined in the Constitution.
He also emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in preserving the hard-earned freedom and building a stronger nation for future generations.
The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets among all attendees, fostering goodwill, fraternity, and a shared sense of national pride.
