Khorilol Sandoklup Wangjing celebrates 48th foundation day

Thoubal, June 15 2025: Khorilol Sandoklup Wangjing celebrates its 48th foundation day today at its auditorium hall located at Wangjing.

The foundation day was marked by the presentation of Khorilol Literary Awards, and release of the yearly journal "Ethil".

The event was attended by Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal district, president Moirangthem Rajendra as chief guest, Khorilol Sandoklup Wanjing, president Tongbram Babulal as president and Institute of Rural Education Wangjing, principal/chief functionary Narengbam Dr Rajivkumar and social activist, Ngangbam Kunjabati Leima as guests of honour.

As part of the programme, the dignitaries handed over the "Suvakumar Lifetime Literary Award 2025" to Raghubir Thiyam of Yairipok for his contribution to Manipuri literature.

While, renowned translator Laishram Memo of Wangkhei Keithel Asangbi was handed the "Sambanduram Nandakishwor Handokloi Award, 2025" .

Laishram Memo was awarded the Sambanduram Nadakishwor Handokloi Award for his book "Padma Turel Hihonba" which is a translation from a Bengali classic book written by renowned Bengali writer Manik Bandopadhyay.

The Priyasakhi Ningsing Sahitya Award, 2025 was given to Mayanglambam Sumati of Haobam Marak Keisham Leikai for his short story book "Punshi gi Leichil" and Tekcham Kaminikush Loidang Literary Award, 2025 to Kritichand Luwang of Wabagai Terapishak for his poetry book "Waotharaklaba Machu".

Also, "Narengbam Ibotombi Khorilol Award, 2025" was present to renowned writer, Elangbam Sunder of Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai for his story book "71 gi Nganu Thangong," while "Ngangbam Jayentakumar Khorilol Award, 2025" was conferred to Sagolshem Mohendro of Mongjam Mayai Leikai for his radio drama book "Pangkhok La Mapal Oirabasu".

The awards include a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each, traditional shawls, and a citation each.
