Moirang, October 14 2025:
Condemning the demolition of Manipur Rajbari at Shillong, Kege Moirang Kendra Apunba Lup (KEMKAL) has called on the relevant authorities to launch a judicial inquiry against those responsible for demolishing the historically significant structure.
Addressing a press briefing at Moirang Konung, KEMKAL spokesperson K Nanda stated that a departmental inquiry is inadequate for the demolition of Manipur Rajbari, given its profound historical significance.
He demanded that those responsible for the demolition be penalized.
Stating that the Manipur Rajbari was demolished without any public notice, he described the act as an attempt to erase a significant chapter of Manipur's history.
