Meritorious students, achievers felicitated

Kakching, July 13 2024: A felicitation programme for meritorious students of Hiyanglam and Wabagai Assembly Constituencies was held today at Wabagai Higher Secondary School.

Meritorious students of different schools of Hiyanglam and Wabagai ACs who have passed the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) 2024 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Higher Secondary Examination 2024 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) were honoured with awards and prizes presented by Eikhoigee Yaipha Lamjing Lup and other individuals during the programme.

The programme was jointly organised by the school and Eikhoigi Yaipha Lamjing Lup, Singjamei Chingamathak.

COHSEM Secretary Kh Ashinikumar; Sahitya Akademi Awardee Maibam Nabakeshore; Wabagai Higher Secondary School Principal Mayengbam Bhorot; Pole Star School Wabagai Principal Heirangkhongjam Noyon; Elangbam Keinya High School Elangkhanpokpi Principal Elangbam Somorendro; Aribam Dinachandra Sharma of ANK English Academy Langmeidong, Iramdam Maheikol Langmeidong Administrator Thounaojam James and Eikhoigee Yaipha Lamjing Lup President Dr Elangbam Iboyaima graced the presidium members of the event.

The awards which were presented are Eikhoigee Yaipha Lamjing Lup Meritorious Award, Mayengbam Ibobi Singh Meritorious Award, Huidrom Gopalmacha and Ruhini Devi Memorial Meritorious Award, Yumnam Ningol Elangbam ongbi Loidang Devi Memorial Best Mother Award, Waikhom Ningol Chabungbam ongbi Mangolnganbi Devi Memorial Meritorious Award, Maibam Jageshwar Singh Memorial Meritorious Award, Huidrom Angou Singh Memorial Meritorious Award and Eikhoigee Yaipha Lamjing Lup Consolation Prize.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Elangbam Iboyaima said that Eikhoigee Yaipha Lamjing Lup has been presenting awards to meritorious students and individuals who have achieved remarkable feats since 1995 to motivate them to strive for better.

The Lup was formed in 1993 by 52 individuals who were born in Hiyanglam and Wabagai ACs and working in different fields, he said.

He maintained that many like-minded persons have now joined the Lup and expressed belief that many more will join in the future in working towards encouraging and supporting the young achievers.
