Imphal, May 13 2025: Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition and arrested three members of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group) in search operations conducted in the past 48 hours.

According to a police control room statement, a Pietro Beretta Pistol (7.65 mm) with magazine, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, one locally made single barrel gun, three locally made hand grenades, two improvised Pompi, two tear smoke shells, two smoke candles, two wood piercing cells and two 38 mm anti-riot cartridges were recovered from G Khomunuam village under Churachandpur police station on Monday.

In another operation the same day, security forces apprehended a cadre of KCP (PWG) from near Dhaka Brick Field, Khongjom in Thoubal district.

The arrested individual has been identified as Narengbam Gobin Singh (38) of Wangjing Lam-ding Awang Leikai, Thoubal district.

He was reportedly involved extortion and kidnapping in the district.

One mobile phone and two SIM cards were seized from his possession.

On Monday, two more active members of KCP (PWG) were rounded up from a rented house in Mantripukhri Mercylane, Imphal East district.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Asheibam Gopen Singh (43) of Andro Makha Leikai, and Laishram Sanamacha Leima (45) of Sinam Maning Leikai.

Meanwhile, police recovered six vehicles from miscreants in a special drive conducted earlier on Sunday, the statement added.
