Shija Hospitals observes National Doctors' Day

Imphal, July 01 2025: Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd (SHRI) observed National Doctors' Day with a formal event at Hall G, Shija Academy of Health Sciences, Langol.

As per a release issued by SHRI, the observance began with Shija's caregivers paying floral tribute to Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy's portrait to honor his legacy and the spirit of the day.

Dr Palin Khundongbam, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), narrated the life history of Dr Roy's contributions to medicine and public service.

Following the tribute, a panel discussion on the theme "Relevance of Doctor-Patient Relationship in the Present Scenario" was conducted.

Moderated by Dr Jugindra Sorokhaibam, Director of Medical Services, the session featured Dr Subodha N, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Dr Chakshu, Consultant Physician; Dr Rahul Oinam, Consultant Neurologist; Dr Sweta Khuraijam, Consultant, Emergency Medicine; Dr Kh Sachikumar, Consultant Paediatrician; Dr Gautam Ch, Consultant Neurosurgeon; Dr Sinkhol L, Consultant General Surgeon; and Dr Iboyaima Ph, Consultant Orthopedics, Spine and Joint Surgeon.

The discussion focused on the importance of clear communication, mutual respect, and trust in clinical practice.

Panelists shared practical experiences from their fields, highlighting the need to preserve the human aspect of care even as healthcare becomes more system-driven.
