Manipur's organic products showcased at BIOFACH 2025

Imphal, August 31 2025: A wide range of organic products of Manipur were showcased at the Biofach India 2025, one of the country's largest organic trade fair, being held from August 30 to September 1, 2025 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

BIOFACH India brought together organic producers, buyers, businesses, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the globe to discuss opportunities and challenges in the organic sector, while providing FPOs a platform to highlight the diversity and strength of North-eastern organic products.

To strengthen market access of organic products, a team of 17 members comprising of officials, staff members, farmers and Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) under Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation and Department of Agriculture, Manipur participated in the premier organic trade fair organised by APEDA and Nurnberg Messe India.

Also, the team, led by Director (Horticulture) and Director (Agriculture), facilitated signing of agreements for procurement of Ginger (fresh and dry), Turmeric (fresh and dry), Chakhao (Black Aromatic Rice), King Chilli (oven dry), Garlic, Red Quinoa, Moringa, Black Rajma and contract farming of Ashwagandha crop, worth more than Rs 15 crores in total, between Chakhao Poreiton FPC, Imphal West and four buyers namely Prajapati Natural Products, Rajasthan; OPick Pure, Himachal Pradesh; Poiline, Ahmedabad; and IVC Agrovet, Mumbai Officials from Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India and APEDA, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India also took part in the signing event.
