BJP MLAs may hold another meeting on June 29

Imphal, June 27 2025: BJP MLAs may hold another joint meeting at the office of BJP Manipur Pradesh on June 29 on the formation of a popular Government in the State.

All BJP MLAs barring the Kuki MLAs are likely to attend the meeting.

Ex-Chief Minister N Biren may also join the meeting this time, sources said.

However, it is not yet clear whether the meeting is being held at the instruction of BJP Central leaders or it is aimed at presenting a united front of all the BJP MLAs and exerting pressure on the Centre to install a popular Government in the State.

The meeting which is likely to be held on June 29 would be chaired by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda.

Although the exact hour of the meeting has not been fixed yet, BJP MLAs have agreed to hold a meeting at the party office on Sunday, said the sources.

A joint meeting of BJP MLAs was held at the official quarters of MLA Thongam Biswajit at Sanjenthong on May 30 and the meeting agreed on formation of a popular Government in the State.

A Sharda took the decisions adopted at the meeting to New Delhi and discussed the same matter with BJP National president JP Nadda and some other BJP National leaders recently.

It is being speculated that the meeting which is likely to be held on June 29 may prove to be a key step with regard to formation of a popular Government, said the sources.

With the exception of the Kuki MLAs, all BJP MLAs are expected to attend the meeting which is likely to be held on June 29 .

BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda is likely to issue a formal notice for the meeting soon.

In case no meeting is held on June 29, a joint meeting of BJP MLAs will be held within the next couple of days.

A Sharda will issue a formal notice and invitations to all the BJP MLAs, the sources added.
