Union AYUSH Minister takes first hand account of RIMS

Imphal, September 20 2026: Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav visited RIMS, Imphal, today and reviewed its functioning.

He was received at the New OPD complex by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS along with faculty members, said a statement issued by RIMS .

The Minister visited the New OPD complex, followed by visits to the Medical Emergency Block and Surgical Wards.

During the ward visits, the Minister interacted with patients and their relatives and enquired about their well-being and whether they were receiving proper care at RIMS Hospital, to which most patients responded in the affirmative.

Following the ward visits, Prataprao visited Boys' PG Hostel-III, where he planted a tree along with the students.

A review meeting was held at Sushruta Hall, attended by the team from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Prof Sunil Kumar presented the progress made by RIMS, its shortfalls and requirements.

The Minister interacted with the faculty members and the Director and assured all necessary support.

He also enquired about the functioning of PM-JAY, Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi and various other Government healthcare schemes.

A presentation was also made by the representative of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and the Regional Office of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Imphal.
