HSLC Exam 2025 results out; 9137 pc makes the cut

Results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) were declared this afternoon with 91.37 per cent of the students clearing the exam.
Out of 37052 students enrolled for the exam, 36943 gave the exam and 33755 (91.37 per cent) cleared the exam.
Altogether 18459 male students enrolled for the exam and 18387 of them gave the exam.
16825 (91.50 per cent) of them cleared the exam.
Against 18,593 female students enrolled for the exam, 18,556 gave the exam and 16,930 (91.24 per cent) of them passed the exam.
The pass percentage of Government school is 82.32, aided school 91.38 per cent and private schools is 94.15 per cent.
The district-wise pass percentages are Imphal West 90.96, Imphal East 93.07, Thoubal 97.30, Bishnupur 94.96, Ukhrul 91.03, Churachandpur 86.03, Senapati 87.83, Tamenglong 67.84, Chandel 95.95, Jiribam 65.63, Kakching 98.48, Kamjong 82.90, Pherzawl 56.76, Kangpokpi 85.82, Noney 97.78 and Tengnoupal 96.99 .
The pass percentages during the past 10 years are 65.37 in 2016, 66.70 in 2027, 73.18 in 2018, 75.69 in 2019, 65.34 in 2020, 100 per cent in 2021, 76 in 2022, 82.82 in 2023 and 93.03 in 2024 .
Three students who used impersonators to give the exam were banned from HSLC Exam till 2028 while the results of nine students have been withheld for different reasons.
In line with NEP 2020, grades and grade point system were introduced in HSLC exams from 2024 without displaying the marks scored by students.
It is said that original certificates cum grade statements would be given to authorised school officials after the declaration of results.
The results were officially declared at BOSEM auditorium, Babupara where Education (S) Secretary Naorem Praveen, BOSEM Chairman Akham Joykumar, BOSEM Secretary S Jitelal, Education (S) Director Ng Bhogendra Meitei and BOSEM Controller of Examinations Ayam Thoi Singh were present as presidium members.
Akham Joykumar said that High School Leaving Certificate Examination is the biggest and most important examination conducted by BOSEM.
Claiming that the HSLC Examination 2025 was conducted quite successfully, the BOSEM Chairman expressed gratitude to all who assisted the board in conducting the exam successfully including the board's officers, staff, Education(S) officials, CSOs, student organisations and Manipur Police.
