Inter College MU Tournament : Hosts Pravabati College emerge overall Judo champions

Imphal, November 04 2023: Hosts Pravabati College were crowned the overall champions of the Manipur University Inter College Judo (M/W) Tournament as Kamakhya Pemton (KP) College finished runners up.

The tournament held today at Mayai Lambi Sports Academy hall saw participation of 12 female and 16 male competitors from 7 different Colleges.

Mutum Roshibina and Thoudam Aditta, both representing Pravabati College were adjudged best female and male judoka of the tournament.

Competition Highlight

Mutum Roshibina secured the gold medal in the women's U-48 kg category beating compatriot Hidam Tina in the final as Thoudam Belori and Anjali, both also from the same college, settled for the bronze medals.

Huidrom Matouleibi of KP College sealed the U-52 kg category title beating host Ningthoujam Haripiyari in the final.

Mayanglambam Jenita of NB College and Saikhom Rashitombi of YK College bagged the bronze medals in this competition.

Lourembam Chaoba of Biramangol College in the meantime sealed the U-57 kg category gold medal beating compatriot Lairenlakpam Helina in the final as Sunandi Heisnam of Pravabati College claimed the U-63 kg category gold.

In the men's competition, Thoudam Aditta (U-66 kg), Ch Roberto (U-91 kg) and Laishram Symon (U-100 kg) won gold medals for Pravabati College as Kh Jeniber (U-60 kg) won a gold medal for KP College.

Th Nishikanta (U-66 kg) of Mayai Lambi College and NK Sanatomba (U-81 kg) of Pole Star College also clinched gold medals in their respective weight categories.
