On the other hand, North Eastern Reorganising Cultural Association (NEROCA), Sangakpham who had also won the champion�s title once, entered the final after defeating YWC, Thambal-khong in the second semi final match. Today�s match was a very interesting match with players of both team trying real hard to score at least one goal against each other.
Both team played the match substantially with full coordination among the players. Each team tried at their best level to dominate one another.
But no players of both team could score a single goal against each other till the end of the match. With no other option, the referee judged to break the tie by penalty kick. In the penalty kick, Assam Rifles managed to entered four goals against NEROCA while NEROCA could edged only two goals against Assam Rifles. The scorers of Assam Rifles were L Santa, Omkar Rana, O Kuber and T Pijendra.
On the other hand Thomas and Th Surjit scored the two goals of NEROCA. S Lokeshor of AR was awarded best goalkeeper�s title.
L Tiken of SSU and Ksh Malemnganba of NEROCA shared the top scorer�s title with 10 goals each in their credit. The title of best fair play team went to MBSU.
S Manimohon of NISA was awarded the title of man footballer of the year while Ph Bina of AMMA, IEDFA was honoured with woman foot-baller of the year.

AS THE 52nd Sir Churachand Memorial CSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2008 organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has concluded today at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal, Assam Rifles won the coveted champion�s trophy after defeating its opponent NEROCA in a hard won match.
It may be recalled that Assam Rifles entered final after defeating MBSU in the first semi final match.
They had won the trophy three times earlier.
