Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul interacts with conflict survivors

As part of an ongoing voluntary initiative, a delegation led by Chief Justice High Court of Manipur Siddharth Mridul distributed relief materials and conducted interaction programmes at Lhangnomphai Relief Camp, Damdei Relief Camp and Motbung Bethlehem Veng Relief Camp under Kangpokpi district today.
The Chief Justice was accompanied by Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui; RS Reisang Senior Advocate and other Advocates of the High Court of Manipur; Letkho Kipgen, District & Sessions Judge, Senapati; Alek Muivah, member secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA); Kimneingah Kipgen, secretary, Senapati District Legal Services Authority, Subham Vashist, Joint Registrar (Judl), High Court of Manipur and other Registry officials as well as Manoj Prabhakar, SP Kangpokpi; S Baite, ADC, Kangpokpi; Len Singsit, SDO Champhai; Lamminlal Simte, SDO Waichong; Paotinsei Kipgen, SDO Saitu and president and members of All Tribal Lawyers Association, Manipur (ATLAM) .
Relief materials were distributed to the IDPs residing in the three relief camps, said a statement issued by Alek Muivah, member secretary, (MSLSA) .
The IDPs received relief items such as water tanks, carpet, winter shawls, portable solar lamps, thermo-flasks, immersion rods, hot water bags, Lactogen, Mothers Horlicks, buckets, mugs, plates and sports items with the aim to alleviate some of the challenges faced by the displaced folks.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with the IDPs and the conflict survivors expressed their concerns mainly on lack of source of income and availability of medicines.
They further submitted that the students residing at the relief camps face difficulties in going to school due to distance and geographical barriers.
In addition, ATLAM submitted a memorandum to the Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur for improvement of infrastructure of the District Judiciary.
It may be mentioned that the team has already visited and distributed relief materials to the relief camps at Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching districts earlier this month.
