Sit-in staged

A sit-in protest was organised today at ANYTK ground, Thangmeiband to denounce the brutal killing of three youths from the State by personnel of Army's Intelligence Unit at Char Mile, Dimapur in 2010 and the delay in delivering justice in the case.
Three youths from the State�Ph Naobi, RK Roshan and Th Prem were reportedly killed by personnel of Army Intelligence Unit after arresting them at Char Mile, Dimapur in Nagaland on March 10, 2010 .
The sit-in protest was participated by residents of Thangmeiband and Lalambung.
Dr Hodam Dorikanta, who took part in the sit-in today demanded that fitting action be taken against the army personnel, particularly incumbent Vice COAS Lt Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag, involved in the brutal killing without any further delay.
Lt Gen Dalbir was the Commander of 3 Corps of the Army based at Dimapur when the trio was killed in 2010 .

The people have apprehension that the elevation of Dalbir Singh Suhag to the post of CAS would encourage more of such extrajudicial killings, he said while adding that the officer is unfit to occupy the post of army chief.
Further, he said that there are several subordinate officers who are willing to testify the wrong deeds of the officer.
As such, Dalbir has no means to evade the charges levelled against him.
Dr Dorikanta also said that series of agitation would be launched besides taking legal recourse to get justice in the case.
The elder brother of (L) Phijam Naobi, Ph Manikumar who also participated in the sit-in demanded the Govt to pay more attention to the case so that the guilty gets punished.
The Manipur High Court would conduct a hearing on May 5 in connection with the case.
