AR dedicates water plant, distributes solar lamp, gym kits

In an initiative to strengthen the relationship be tween security forces and native populace of the state, Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) on Wednesday dedicated a RO water plant at Phaisanjang village, near the Indo-Myanmar border in Chandel district under Operation Sadhbhavna.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the villagers have been grappling with severe shortage of water for drinking purposes, affecting their health, hindering their ability to carry out daily chores and activities, besides exposing them to serious risk of waterborne diseases.
On the other hand, under the Assam Rifles civic action programme, eight solar street lights were distributed to Pungtha village in Kamjong district on Thursday, bringing sense of relief and joy to the local residents, offering them a much-needed basic amenities, the PRO added.
Similarly, recognising the pivotal role of physical fitness in fostering holistic growth and well-being, troopers of Assam Rifles distributed gym equipment including treadmill, exercise bikes, rowing machine, smith machine, leg press machine, bench press, Olympic barbell, etc., in Kwatha village.
