UNLF mourns demise of ex-cadre Mangoljao

The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) led by Koireng has deeply mourned the sudden and untimely demise of former cadre of its armed wing Manipur People's Army (MPA) private Moirangthem Mangoljao.
According to a statement of UNLF-Koireng issued by its publicity secretary M Sak-hen, Moirangthem Mangoljao alias Keshorjit of Kakching Turel Wangma passed away after a prolonged ailment on February 4, 2024 .
Mangoljao shouldered immense responsibility in the movement for restoring sovereignty of Manipur by joining the UNLF and completed Basic Military Training in March, 1994 at the then United Base Area CHQ Chumnu camp.
He was assigned MPA Serial No.243/7 but suffered bullet injury (spinal cord) in a gun-battle on June 11, 1995 and had to be discharged from the outfit in view of his health condition.
Describing him as a disciplined, patriotic, courageous and committed revolutionary, the statement said that Mangoljao's patriotic spirit never died and lived as MPA despite being discharged by the outfit.
