DC bans paddy threshing on road

Thoubal, November 04 2023: Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhash has made it clear that no farmers shall utilise any part of the paved road for threshing paddy and that owners/drivers of farm vehicles should compulsorily remove mud from the tyres before driving out to the main road.

In an order issued Saturday, the DC said that it has come to the notice of the district administration that with the start of harvest season, some farmers are resorting to threshing paddy on paved publicroad.

Further, large number of farm vehicles are dropping mud from the fields on paved roads thereby causing damage to public property and violating road safety, it added.

DC Subhash cautioned that failure to comply with the said directives will invite appropriate action as per the law.
