Pham Eka of Tathangam Monsang held

Monsang customary installation ceremony traditionally known as Pham Eka of K Tathangam Monsang as assistant chief (Rampuh) of Japhou village authority was held on Tuesday at Japhou local ground, Chandel.
The installation ceremony was attended by Japhou village chief W Hemasing and Japhou Baptist Church (JBC) pastor Rev Sh Shrimon as oath administrator and blessing minister respectively.
The ceremony was marked by cultural dance presentation by students of Japhou Upper Primary School, Japhou village authority members, church leaders and general public to the tune of Monsang folk song.
Monsang chiefs, church leaders, political leaders, CSO leaders, women leaders, student leaders from Monsang and neighbouring Naga villages in Chandel district attended the customary function with appreciation and gifts.
During his installation speech, K Tathangam mentioned his early association with Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (STS) also known as Monsang Naga Students' Union as debate secretary during the presidential tenure of (late) Th Oliver Monsang.
In religious sphere, he had served as Pastor of Japhou Baptist Church (JBC) from 1987-1997 and chairman of Church Board JBC for three terms from 1999-2001 and 2008-2013 .
