Imphal, April 13 2015 : Chief Minister O Ibobi and others have extended greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Cheiraoba.

In a message, the Chief Minister said that Cheiraoba, one of the major festivals of Manipur, marks the parting of the old year and the onset of a new year.

"With the advent of another year, let us strive to work for unity and peaceful coexistence amongst all sections of the society in the State," the CM said while wishing that the new year heralds an era of peace, prosperity and progress for all.

In a greeting message, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Lokeshwar Singh wished Cheiraoba festival brings in love and affection among different people of the State.

The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council also greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Cheiraoba.
