MlYC, MTU appeal for smooth conduct of exams

Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) and Meetei (Meitei) Tribe Youth (MTU) have appealed to the people of the state not to launch any agitation which might cause problem to students preparing or appearing for/in the class X and XII exam.
In joint release issued by youth wings of MTYC and MTU, there had been general practice to ensure that the period from February till April remain free from strikes and blockades considering the importance of class X and XII exams for every student.
Although there is a need to maintain constant vigil to neutralise threat posed to security and integrity of Manipur, all concerned should accord top priority for betterment of the students, they maintained.
Comparing the class X exam to 'first world war' and class XII exam 'second world war' for the students, the youth wings reiterated their appeal to the people to refrain from calling strikes and blockades which would cause hindrances to the students.
Further urging the government not to impose curfew, road block and extreme measures towards the public, it suggested that the government provide security cover and facilitate disturbance-free movement to the students.
They also quoted South African freedom fighter and then President Nelson Mandela as saying "education is the most powerful weapon of a nation" along with pointing out during the WW2 when Germany attacked Poland (1939 till 1944), Poland continued with education of their youth, similar to the Vietnam War seeing the Vietnamese youth facilitated in pursuing education at secret hideouts in the hills.
Moreover, the youth wings appealed to the flying squads and invigilators of the examinations to exercise maximum restraint in order to enable the student candidates appear the examination under conducive environment.
They also exhorted the students to appear the exam in a fair maimer.
