Raj Bhavan celebrates Governor's service to state

Marking the completion of one year of service in the state as the Governor, the first anniversary of the Governorship of Anusuiya Uikey was celebrated at Raj Bhavan, here, on Thursday.
In the function held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, the Governor along with her secretary Bobby Waikhom, released a Coffee Table Book in Hindi titled "Mere Abinav Prayas" meaning 'My Innovative Efforts'.
The Governor distributed Certificates of Appreciation to seven CRPF personnel posted at the Raj Bhavan and two drivers, one each from Raj Bhavan and the Police department, in recognition of their commendable services.
Under secretary to the Governor, M Meena highlighted various developmental initiatives taken up by the Governor for the welfare of the people of the state.
Raj Bhavan has been extending support to the violence-affected people both in the hills and valley.
Relief materials were distributed and monetary support was extended to pregnant women, patients with serious ailments and children in the relief camps, the under secretary underlined.
Later, speaking to the gathering, Anusuiya Uikey thanked the officers, staff and security personnel for their cooperation and support extended to her in discharging duties for welfare of the people of the state.
She said that since she took over the office of the Governor, many developmental initiatives have been taken up in the Raj Bhavan.
Expressing serious concern over the prevailing situation in the state, the Governor said that efforts are being made by the Centre and the state continuously to contain the violence and to restore peace.
She continued that with the support of local populace, especially CSOs, women and student leaders, complete peace can be restored in the state.
The Governor also said that she is in touch with the Central leaders and expressed hope that peace will prevail in the state soon.
The Governor also appealed to the people to extend support to the government in the process of restoring peace and harmony, adding that the door of Raj Bhavan is always open to common people.
The Governor said that she is impressed by the cultural diversity and traditions of the state and assured of carrying out duties as Governor of the state responsibly.
