Addressing a press meet at the conference hall of the Directorate, Lamphelpat, here, on Thursday, Dr Sasheekumar said that climate change has brought huge changes not only to the environment but also to the human body.
Globally, the temperature has increased by around 1.5 degree Celsius over the last 100 years, with carbon dioxide percentage reaching about 47 percent, thereby causing the greenhouse effect.

Apart from this, advisories have been forwarded to the Labour, Home and Education Departments to take requisite measures.
Additionally, trainings will be imparted to nurses and doctors from time to time to enable the Health Department to deal with any emergency, he conveyed.
Dr Sasheekumar continued that temperature in Manipur has risen over the years.
As such, at least five beds will be reserved in all hospitals to deal with cases related to heat wave.
He then urged the people to regularly drink water, consume fresh vegetables and fruits, wear light clothes made of cotton or colour, abstain from drinking alcohol or carbonated drinks, wear caps or hats, open doors and windows for proper ventilation.
In addition, young kids, pregnant women, labourers, mentally unsound, heart or BP patients, elderlies or sole members should be extra careful, he asserted.
